Nike Unveils Special Air Force 1 Editions for USA and Mexico Ahead of World Cup
The athletic giant Nike is preparing for upcoming World Cup action by releasing special editions of its iconic Air Force 1 Low sneaker, designed to celebrate both the United States Men’s National Team and Mexico’s football heritage.
Two distinct colorways will honor these North American rivals: the Air Force 1 Low “Team USA” and the “Mexico Tiempo FC” edition. The American version features official team branding, while the Mexican variant takes a more artistic approach due to Mexico’s sponsorship agreement with Adidas, incorporating elaborate design elements instead of official logos.
The United States edition showcases a pristine all-white foundation enhanced by a metallic blue Nike swoosh. Official team insignia adorns the heel area, complemented by blue Nike Air branding on the tongue label and red detailing on the footbed.
The Mexico-inspired model presents a more elaborate aesthetic, featuring a lustrous silk-textured upper in an off-white tone. Flame-inspired embroidery surrounds the swoosh and extends across the toe area. Green accents appear throughout the design, including the swoosh, interior lining, tongue label, and heel section, which displays pink lettering spelling “El Tiempo F.C.” The design is completed with cream-colored laces and midsole contrasted by a deep burgundy outsole. The footbed carries the Spanish phrase “Amor Que No Se Apaga,” meaning “Love That Never Fades.”
Recent matchups between these regional powers show the United States with a favorable record since 2021, claiming five victories against two defeats and two draws. However, Mexico secured their most recent encounter during the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup final. With both nations co-hosting the 2026 tournament alongside Canada, there exists potential for these teams to meet in the round of 32 elimination phase, depending on group stage outcomes.
The “Team USA” Air Force 1 Low will become available on March 23 through Nike’s official website, priced at $125. While the “Mexico Tiempo FC” edition lacks a confirmed launch date, it is expected to debut around the same timeframe at an identical price point.
